Sterex SX-B Device Masterclass

Your electrolysis results will only ever be as good as your command of the machine in front of you · and the Sterex SX-B rewards practitioners who truly know it.

Mastering the Sterex SX-B is a complete machine mastery course for electrologists and beauty therapists working with one of the most trusted electrolysis machines in the Australian industry. Across eight structured modules, you will move from the science of electrolysis through every modality the SX-B delivers, to confident troubleshooting, care and maintenance.

Aligned to the nationally recognised unit SHBBHRS013, this course is built by a clinician who has taught this machine for decades · not a manual rewritten as slides. Every module is grounded in real treatment-room practice, including video demonstration of correct needle loading technique, needle type selection, and the daily habits that keep your machine performing and compliant for years.

What You Will Learn

• ✓ The science of electrolysis and why it remains the only recognised method of permanent hair removal
• ✓ Complete orientation to the SX-B: controls, settings, calibration and setup
• ✓ Needle types and selection, with correct loading technique demonstrated on video
• ✓ Thermolysis on the SX-B: how high-frequency current generates heat in the follicle, and when to use it
• ✓ Working across the machine's modalities and matching your settings to hair type, skin and treatment area
• ✓ Troubleshooting: recognising and resolving the problems that interrupt treatments
• ✓ Care and maintenance: daily cleaning, probe holder care, autoclave use and sterilisation to AS 5369:2023, storage, accessory replacement and servicing obligations

Inside the Course

Eight modules of structured lessons with module quizzes throughout, delivered in the Dermaskin Academy online classroom. The course is fully self-paced: study in the order it is built, or jump straight to the module you need before a treatment day. You keep access, so it works as both your training and your permanent reference whenever a question comes up at the machine.

The course finishes with the module most courses skip entirely: complete care and maintenance of your machine, covering sterilisation standards (AS 5369:2023 and the NSW Public Health Regulation 2022), long-term storage, and your professional servicing obligations · the knowledge that protects both your investment and your compliance.

Who This Course Is For

• ✓ Practising electrologists who own or are purchasing a Sterex SX-B
• ✓ Beauty therapists adding electrolysis to their service menu
• ✓ Clinic owners training staff on the SX-B to a consistent standard

The course is written and taught by Kelly Dermody, founder of Dermaskin Academy, ABIC Endorsed Educator, Senior Advisor on the ABIC Electrology and Education Committees, and a nationally accredited Trainer and Assessor with more than 30 years of clinical electrolysis experience.

Please note: This is an online theory and machine mastery course. It supports, but does not replace, accredited practical training in electrolysis. Own a different machine? The modality and care principles transfer, but the controls and settings taught are specific to the Sterex SX-B.
