Expand your anatomical foundation beyond the skin. This unit develops your understanding of how the major body systems work, how they interact with each other, and how to apply that knowledge to design more effective beauty therapy treatments for your clients.
This unit is required for new to industry students enrolling in SHBBHRS013 (Electrolysis) and other advanced treatment units.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

-The major body systems — skeletal, muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, nervous and endocrine — and how they interrelate
-How body systems influence skin condition and beauty therapy treatment outcomes
-The role of the endocrine system in hair growth — hormones, androgens and their effects on the hair follicle
-How the lymphatic system affects skin health and treatment response
-How to use anatomy knowledge to assess and analyse client needs across the body
-How to design body treatment programs based on anatomical understanding
-How to advise clients on body treatments, product selection and homecare
-Recording relevant data and maintaining accurate client records

COURSE DELIVERY

-Theory completed online at your own pace — study from anywhere in Australia
-Practical component completed face-to-face or online via Zoom

-Written knowledge test
-Quiz — body structures and functions
-Practical observation — demonstrate application of body anatomy knowledge in a treatment context
