Kelly Dermody
Educator. Clinician. Industry Leader.Kelly Dermody has spent over three decades at the treatment table before stepping into the classroom — and that distinction matters. She is not an educator who has read about electrolysis. She is a clinician who has performed thousands of treatments, managed every contraindication, and built a career that spans clinical practice, product development and national industry leadership.
As an ABIC Endorsed Educator and Senior Advisor on both the ABIC Electrology Committee and the ABIC Education Committee, Kelly directly influences the national standards that govern advanced beauty education in Australia. When the industry sets its benchmarks, Kelly is in the room.
A Nationally Accredited Trainer and Assessor (TAE) for over 20 years, Kelly has shaped the careers of hundreds of beauty therapists, nurses and healthcare professionals across Australia. As founder of IVY Skin Clinics and Mine Minerals Skincare and Makeup Sydney, her expertise has earned global recognition — with features in Vogue and Vanity Fair — but it is the success of her graduates that she is most proud of.

Emma Dermody
The force behind the experience.Emma Dermody is the co-founder of Dermaskin Academy and the driving force behind everything that happens outside the treatment room. Combining a background in beauty therapy with a sharp eye for operations, marketing and student experience, Emma ensures that every student who comes through Dermaskin Academy feels supported from their very first enquiry through to long after they graduate.
While Kelly brings the clinical depth, Emma brings the infrastructure that makes it all work — from the way courses are structured and communicated, to the student journey, the enrolment process and the graduate community that keeps Dermaskin graduates connected and growing long after qualification day.
Emma's beauty therapy background means she understands the industry from a student's perspective as well as a business one. She knows what it feels like to be deciding whether to invest in a course, what questions matter, and what good support actually looks like in practice. That lived experience shapes everything she builds at Dermaskin Academy.
